Lastscript ยท last updated 12 August 2026

Lastscript collects nothing, sends nothing, and has no account. That is not a policy position taken after the fact; the app makes no network requests of any kind. The whole catalogue of 65 writing systems and all 39 typefaces are inside the app, which is why it works with the aeroplane mode switch on.

What stays on your device

The name you type, any other names you keep, which cards you have opened, your streak, the letters you have been quizzed on, and your settings. All of it is stored by iOS on the device itself and in your own iCloud device backup if you have one turned on. None of it is transmitted anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to go.

What we receive

Nothing. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier, no tracking of any kind, and no third-party code that phones home. The developer cannot see your name, your reading history, or that you use the app at all.

Photos

If you choose to save a traced letter or an exported image, the app asks iOS for permission to add to your photo library, and nothing more. It cannot read your photos. If you decline, everything else keeps working.

Backups you make yourself

The Back up button writes a file that you control and place wherever you like. It is never uploaded by the app.

Children

Lastscript is rated 4+ and is suitable for children. Since it collects no data from anybody, it collects no data from children either.

Changes

If this ever changes โ€” if a future version gains a feature that needs the network โ€” this page will be updated before that version ships, and the app will say so on screen.
