Privacy Policy

This matters more here than in most apps. To be useful, Ride Access asks you to record things about the people you are travelling with — that a child uses a wheelchair, that a grandparent was told to avoid a ride with a drop, how tall someone is. That is health information about real people, some of them children. It is treated accordingly: it is never transmitted, never analysed, and never seen by anyone but you.

What the app stores, and where

Everything below is held only in the app's own private storage on your device, and only so the app is still useful the next time you open it:

• Your party — for each person, an optional name and whatever you chose to set: a mobility need, a height, health conditions, sensory sensitivities, whether a service animal is travelling, and prosthetics. Nothing is required; the app works with all of it blank.
• Saved rides — which attractions you starred.
• Notes — anything you typed against an attraction.
• Ridden marks — which attractions you have been on.
• Two settings — how you sort a ride list, and whether you have seen the introduction and the current version's release notes.

None of it is transmitted anywhere, and all of it is deleted if you delete the app.

Seeing, exporting and deleting it yourself

Open About → Your data in the app. That screen lists exactly what is held, with counts; exports all of it as plain text through the iOS share sheet, so you decide where it goes; and deletes every bit of it on request, behind a confirmation that names what will go. The delete is complete — no part of it survives.

The system search index

The app puts attraction names, their park, their land and their published heights into the iPhone's own Spotlight index, so you can find a ride by typing its name on the home screen. Only what the operator published goes into that index. Nothing you typed does — not your party, not your notes, not your saved list. That index lives on your device and is removed when you delete the app.

What the app does not collect

To be explicit, because "we collect only what we need" is usually where a policy starts being vague. Ride Access does not collect, receive, store or transmit: your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, calendar, location — precise or coarse — device identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP address, usage or interaction analytics, diagnostics or crash logs, purchase history, or any identifier that could be linked to you. It has no server to send them to.

When you choose to leave the app

Four actions hand something to another app, and only ever because you tapped them:

• Open the operator's PDF opens a park operator's website in your browser. From that point the operator's own privacy policy applies, not this one.
• Share a ride and share the plan open the iOS share sheet with text. Where it goes is entirely your choice; the app sends it nowhere. Your private notes are left out of a shared plan unless you switch them on first.
• Export everything on the Your data screen opens the same share sheet with a plain-text copy of everything held. Again, where it goes is your choice.
• Writing to support opens your email app. Nothing is sent unless you send it. If you do, the developer receives that email and your email address, and uses them only to answer you or to check the rule you wrote about.

Children

Ride Access is a planning tool for families and is not directed at children. A parent may well record a child's constraints in it — that is what it is for — and that information is subject to everything above: it stays on the device, is never transmitted, and can be seen, exported and deleted in full from About → Your data. The app knowingly collects no information from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app ever collects anything, this page will be updated before that version ships and the date at the top will change. As long as this page says the app collects nothing, that is what the shipping app does.
